Ontario BJJ Championship

Hi everybody,

hope you had a good year, and enjoyed your Holiday. First we want to thank you for your part in helping with the growth of the BJJ tournaments in 2011, The BJJ events run under the banner of the Ontario Jiu Jitsu Association (OJA) were very exciting this year. A lot of new athletes joined the competition schedule in 2011, and the development of our referees have far exceeded our expectations. Some new faces at the referee course in September which will lead to more trained referees at future events.
The reviews of the tournaments this past season have been positive and encouraging. Four of the six events exceeded 300 competitors, two of which exceeded 400 competitors showing great growth in the sport of BJJ in our community. We see the opportunity for an even greater year in 2012, the addition of some more events this year will more opportunity for new students and our more competitive athletes to compete. Also we are looking to add both a Kids only (5-15yrs) and a Team Tournament. I am optimistic 2011 will be an awesome year for BJJ in Ontario, and we hope to see you all there.
